Lazy days

Butlin's Clacton was a vast site allowing plenty of space for the many holidaymakers to roam about without crowding. As can be seen in this postcard, the red, white, blue and yellow umbrellas were both picturesque and a trademark of the Butlin's holiday atmosphere. The colourfully painted illuminations hung on poles around the perimeter of the lawns add greatly to the ambience.
